Kolkata, May 6: Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, demanded for a CBI investigation into the killing of BJP worker Arjun Chowrasia in Kolkata’s Kashipur district on Friday. ‘In Bengal, there was a culture of violence and dread psychosis,’ Shah remarked.
Shah went on to say that the incident had been taken seriously by the home ministry, which had requested a report from the state administration.
“Yesterday, the TMC government completed one year of its term. Today, political murders have started in the state. The BJP condemns the murder of Arjun Chowrasia. I met the grieving family. His grandmother was also beaten. The BJP demands CBI inquiry into the incident.”
“We will ensure that the murderers of Chowrasia gets the strictest of punishment,” he added.
Notably, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha Mondal Vice-President, North Kolkata brutally slaughtered and hanged on Friday. Union home minister Amit Shah, who is in West Bengal for a two-day tour, paid a visit to the BJP worker’s home today afternoon.
