New Delhi, June 2: President Droupadi Murmu received a courtesy visit from Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday at Rashtrapati Bhawan in the capital.
“Today, I paid a courtesy call to respected President Mrs Droupadi Murmu,” Shah tweeted.

Shah met the President a day after his return from a four-day stock-taking trip to the violent Manipur. In the northeastern state, he also interacted with several groups of people.
The Rashtrapati Bhavan also tweeted: ”Union Minister for Home Affairs and Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan”.

At a press conference on Thursday, Shah in Manipur declared that a panel of investigators headed by a former High Court judge will look into the recent violence in the State.
He declared that a peace committee will also be established, presided over by the governor of Manipur, and comprised of representatives from every section of society.
The Home Minister sent heartfelt condolences to the families of those slain in violence in the State on behalf of the Narendra Modi-led central government.
