Ranchi: The 27th meeting of the Eastern Zonal Council will be held in Ranchi on May 10, and it is set to witness the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah along with Chief Ministers from multiple states. In view of the high-profile event, Ranchi Police has intensified preparations to ensure foolproof security arrangements.

On Thursday, DIG and Ranchi SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha conducted a high-level review meeting with senior officers and directed heightened vigilance across sensitive areas of the city.

Focus On Regional Coordination, Development Review

The Eastern Zonal Council meeting will deliberate on key inter-state issues, including economic and social development plans, border coordination, and transportation-related matters.

The council, formed to boost coordination and expedite development across eastern states, will also review the progress of ongoing infrastructure and welfare projects.

Police forces have been directed to remain on high alert and intensify surveillance, especially at VIP routes, public places, hotels, and the airport.

What To Expect

  • Participation of Union Minister Amit Shah

  • Chief Ministers and senior ministers from Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, and Odisha

  • Review of inter-state transport, law and order, and development schemes

  • Discussions on border security and cross-border coordination
