Daltonganj, April 26: A record high failure of the 2021 batch of MBBS students in the Medinirai Medical College in Daltonganj is of the anatomy subject.
28 MBBS students have plucked in this subject alone. Physiology is another subject where 17 MBBS students plucked. The Biochemistry subject is also not in a good position where the number of failed MBBS students of the 2021 batch is 12.
These are the findings retrieved from the cross list that the Nilamber Pitamber University, Daltonganj has sent to this college. The official sources of this medical college confirmed these figures.
Sources said the controller of the university examinations, Dr Sheo Pujan Prasad Singh, and his team eased the task of the medical college by clearing one failed result as a pass, exercising legal and valid authority to add five grace marks to one failed MBBS student bringing the number of failed students from 32 to 31.
Five grace marks are given when an MBBS student is just short of it in only one subject while for plucking in more than one subject this facility for five grace marks is not permissible.
There are many among the 31 failed MBBS students who have failed in two and three subjects and they are supposed to sit for the supplementary examination to be conducted by the Nilamber Pitamber University.
MMCH Principal Dr Kamender Prasad who took over the charge from Dr Dharmender Kumar on Tuesday said today, “We will ask the MBBS students to put in their heart and soul for the examination which is not a child’s play.”
“We will be approaching the Nilamber Pitamber University, Daltonganj to take early initiatives to hold the supplementary examination of the failed MBBS students of batch 2021,” added Dr Prasad.
