Ranchi, Oct.15: The Jharkhand High Court, which took a suo moto cognizance in Dunka’s Ankita Singh murder case, has sought a reply from the central and state governments in the matter.
While the state government has been asked under which circumstances Ankita was brought to Ranchi from Dumka and what was her burn percentage when she was brought here, the central government has been asked whether there is a burn ward at AIIMS Deoghar or not and what are the facilities available there for a common patient.
The development took place on Friday, a high court lawyer sharing information said. The high court has asked both governments to file affidavits in the matter before fixing the date of the hearing on November 4.
Earlier, the court had summoned the Jharkhand DGP in the case.
Ankita Singh was set on fire on August 23 by Shahrukh Hussain after she refused the latter’s advances. She died on August 26 at RIMS Ranchi. Hussain was later arrested.
