Varanasi, Dec 25: People of all age groups especially young men, women and children thronged the Malaviya Bhavan where the annual flower show was held today.
This is the annual feature of the University held on the birth anniversary of Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya who was the founder of BHU.
The major attraction of the show was awesome chrysanthemums in different colours. These had been beautifully arranged along with dahlias.
The entire place has been decorated with flowers of different varieties.
The cold winter and westerly winds could not take away the pleasure of these breathtaking beauties. And heavy rush could be seen at different points.
Roses along with Lilium gladiolus, dahlias and numerous other colourful flowers had got a place in the cut flower section.
The idol of Lord Ganesh made of kaddu, mooli, tomatoes and chillis got the first prize in this special section.
There was a separate section for foliage and Bonsai as well. In fact, there were entries for vegetables and spices too.
All the important buildings including the University Vishwanath mandir had been decorated with flowers.
There was a heavy rush in the daytime and evening and people were without the mask.
The entire Malaviya Bhavan has been decorated with coloured lights.
