Dhanbad, Jan 5: ‘Antraagni’ 2023 famous annual sports meet of Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) MBBS students began today with an impressive show at the institution’s hostel ground in the afternoon.
Principal Dr Jyotiranjan Prasad inaugurated the meet which started with a cricket match for Dr Joginder Singh trophy between the 2017 MBBS and 2018 MBBS batches.
‘Antraagni’ is a most popular festival of medical college students in which besides dozen out door and indoor sports events, Rangoli, cultural and fashion show r programmes are organized. It concludes on Saraswati Puja every year. Cat-walk of senior professors, teachers and doctors with wife is the centre of attraction of Antraagni.
SNMMSC sports in-charge Dr CS Suman said that this year 2019 MBBS batch is hosting Antraagni 2023.
Principal Dr Prasad while inaugurating the Antraagni said, “victory and defeat is part of sports but discipline counts much. So maintain discipline at any cost which will give real victory.”
The principal also suggested to MBBS students that though there is no danger in sight but follow Covid guidelines as a precaution.
Dr Joginder Singh was the chief guest on the occasion. SNMMCH superintendent Dr AK Barnbal, Dr Krishna Kumari, Dr Ganesh Kumar and other faculty members were present at the inaugural function.
