Ramgarh, July 9: Another accident took place at the Shakti Fuel Petrol Pump located near Patel Chowk on Ranchi-Patna road (NH 33) four-lane on Saturday morning in which the office of the pump got badly damaged. However, there was no damage to the petrol tank which averted a big accident.
According to the information, the brake of a trailer which was carrying goods and coming from Ranchi had failed. It entered the petrol pump taking another trailer in grip due to which, the cash counter of the petrol pump got damaged.
The trailer driver was injured in this accident as it went into the empty space and hit the cash counter.
Ramgarh police reached the spot as soon as the accident was reported. The Ranchi-Patna road was blocked for some time due to the accident.
Local people are protesting against the frequent accidents. The newly formed Jaan Bachao Sangharsh Morcha has expressed deep concern over the frequent accidents at Patel Chowk.
Vishnu Poddar, the operator of the damaged petrol pump, said,” Despite the continuous information being given about the accidents, no one is paying any more attention to it.”
He said that the petrol pump has suffered a loss of around Rs 40 lakhs due to this accident. He said that the company has been informed and its officers are coming. Only after that, the work at the petrol pump will resume.
Accidents near Patel Chowk are not a new thing. Vehicles clash near this spot quite frequently. Earlier on July 2, two trailers collided here taking an auto in their grip as well. This injured the passengers in the auto. The accident stopped the vehicular movement completely on the road.
