New Delhi, June 23: The GSAT-24 boarded Ariane-5 to travel to space weeks after arriving at the French Guiana spaceport. The satellite was placed into a geostationary transfer orbit by the rocket after it took off from Kourou, French Guiana. MEASAT-3d, a multi-mission communications satellite made by Airbus Defence and Space, was also carried by the mission.
The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) developed the communications satellite GSAT-24 for New Space India Limited (NSIL). This is the first demand-driven satellite built by Isro that NSIL owns, manages, and finances for usage by businesses.
The satellite will match the DTH requirements of Indian customers and offer top-notch television, telecommunications, and broadcasting services.
At 6:50 pm local time, the Ariane-5 launched from the Guiana Space Center to carry out its 113th and first mission of the year. According to Arianespace, the launch will increase internet availability in the Asia-Pacific area.
With the orbiting of both MEASAT-3d, the fourth satellite we have launched for Malaysia, and GSAT-24, the 25th Indian satellite we have provided for them, we are reaffirming our long-term collaboration with these two great actors, according to Stéphane Isral, CEO of Arianespace.
