Ranchi, Feb.15: Kiran Devi, wife of an army man, was shot dead at Kombekera, in the Kolebira police station area of Simdega district.

In the intervening night of February 14 and 15, four miscreants arrived on two bikes, smashed open the door of the room where Devi was sleeping with her five-year-old kid, and shot her dead.

The incident took place when the army man was stationed in Jammu and Kashmir.

A Doderai, a Simdega sub divisional police official, verified the occurrence and said an investigation had been launched. He stated that several of the suspects had been brought to the police station to be questioned about the incident.
