Panchkula, Haryana: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s wife, Sunita Kejriwal, kickstarted the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) campaign in Haryana on Saturday, unveiling “Kejriwal’s guarantees” for the state, which has been under BJP rule for two consecutive terms.
Accompanied by AAP MPs Sanjay Singh and Sandeep Pathak, along with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Sunita Kejriwal announced several key guarantees. These include 24/7 free electricity, employment opportunities for every youth, education for every child, free medical treatment, and a monthly stipend of ?1,000 for every woman above 18 years of age.
The Assembly elections in Haryana are expected to be held in October.
AAP’s state unit chief, Sushil Gupta, emphasized that the party is ready to contest all 90 Assembly seats and is committed to forming the government. On Thursday, AAP officially declared its intention to contest all seats in Haryana, with a strong call for “badlav” (change).
“Aam Aadmi Party has decided to contest the elections in Haryana with full strength,” AAP leader and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stated during a media briefing in Chandigarh.
AAP National Secretary Sandeep Pathak highlighted the extensive public dialogue conducted across approximately 6,500 villages, noting a widespread desire for change. Pathak, who initiated the party’s campaign from Karnal on June 25, asserted that AAP will fight the Haryana Assembly polls with the same vigor as the Kurukshetra Lok Sabha elections.
During visits to parts of Rohtak, Sonipat, and Jind, AAP leaders observed a strong sentiment among the people for a change in government. In the recent Lok Sabha elections, AAP contested one seat in Haryana in alliance with the Congress as part of the INDIA bloc.
