Hangzhou, Sep 24: Due to his excellent performance, Indian swimmer Srihari Nataraj advanced to the men’s 100-meter backstroke final of the ongoing 19th Asian Games on Sunday.
Srihari excelled in the heats and qualified for the 100-meter backstroke final with a season-best time of 54.71. Later on in the day, the Indian will compete in the final.
The women’s 4x100m freestyle relay later qualified for the final with a time of 3:53.80 in heat 2. The team of Shivangi Sarma, Dinidhi Desinghu, Maana Patel and Janhvi Choudhary won the heats with a superb time of 3:53.80 and qualified for the final. Later on in the day, they will resume their action.
Utkarsh Santosh Patil, on the other hand, was unable to advance to the competition’s final. Tanish Mathew George and Anand Anil Kumar, two other swimmers, who both placed fifth in their respective heats, were unable to advance to the men’s 100m freestyle final.
Mathew and Shylaja come in at positions 12th and 17th respectively.
