Karimganj, Sep 3: In Assam’s Karimganj district, the Assam Police arrested one guy and seized a large number of illegal drugs.
According to trustworthy information, the Karimganj police stopped a tanker coming from a bordering state at the Churaibari checkpoint and found 71 packets of marijuana inside the tank, totalling 1,420 kg, in the Karimganj district, officials said on Sunday.
While everything was going on, the state’s Chief Minister appeared on X and praised the Assam Police, saying, “Great job, Assam police!”
Based on reliable inputs, @karimganjpolice intercepted a tanker coming from a neighbouring State at Churaibari checkpost & recovered 71 packets of Ganja weighing 1,420 kg from its tank in Karimganj district.
One person has been arrested in this regard.

More probe is being done.
Earlier on August 28 during a combined operation Special Task Force (STF) Assam Police and Tinsukia district police recovered a significant amount of contraband drugs.
