Melbourne, Jan 25:  : India’s Sania Mirza and her American partner Rajeev Ram bowed out of  the Australian Open mixed doubles. Mirza and Rajeev Ram lose to Australian wildcard pair of Jaimee Fourlis and Jason Kubler 4-6, 6-7 (5-7) in quarter-finals on Tuesday.

Mirza and Rajeev Ram of the United States lost the first set and were unable to generate any energy, allowing their opponents to dominate. Mirza and Ram were left with nothing to do in the second set after losing the first.

In the second set, Mirza and Ram, an Indian-American team, took the lead, but Kubler and Fourlis staged a comeback, and the second set was tied at 5-5.

Kubler and Fourlis, on the other hand, retained their composure to win the match and advance to the Grand Slam semi-finals.

Earlier, Mirza had revealed that the 2022 season will be her last on the court and she would retire after that.
