Deoghar, July 24: The Deoghar DC Manju Nath Bhajnatri has shared the details of the amount donated till date this year in the Baidya Nath Dham during Savan.
Deoghar DC has shared the amount on social media. According to data given by him, the last years accumulation was around Rs 23 lakh 54 thousands 661 through the 18 donation boxes located in the temple premises. Three coins made of silver dated 1882, 1916 and 1920 have also been recovered.
A total amount of Rs 33,000 has been donated through babadham.org within one week. Furthermore, the temple has received Rs 14 lakh 97 thousand through different coupons.
Notably, during the COVID-19 the economy of the city was badly hit. As the economic activities largely depend on the footfall of devotees, the closure of the temple and businesses around had led to a financial crunch. Right from priests to seller of flowers, from sweet shop owners to hotels owners, auto drivers and garments businesses had to face a tough time.
Once in the past, the garments traders were even seen protesting with bowls in their hands, where they were trying to compare themselves with beggars. They were then demanding opening of shops.
With the passage of time after a gap of two years, Shrawani Mela this year has seen more than 7 lakh devotees.
