Ranchi, July 15: The BJP’s new state president, Babulal Marandi, who took over from Rajya Sabha member Deepak Prakash today, has stated his intention to make Narendra Modi Prime Minister of India for the third time in a row.

His words came during a ‘Sneh Milan’ organised by the party workers at a city banquet hall to welcome him. Among those present at the welcome ceremony were veteran BJP leader and former deputy speaker of the Lok Sabha Karia Munda, as well as several party MPs and MLAs besides organisational office bearers.

Calling on the party workers to fulfil his commitment, he stated that their support will help the BJP win the 2024 parliamentary and assembly elections.

Marandi, a former chief minister and current BJP legislature party chief, proposed four paths for party workers to take in order to ensure victory in the upcoming elections. First, he told them that by winning booths, their party could win any election. Second, he advised them to serve the people by ensuring the availability of government benefits.

Third, he instructed them to act immediately if they witnessed any injustice in their locality , rather than waiting for the state instruction. “We are living in the 5G era. We are leaders from before the second generation. Thus, you remain conscious. In the event of a problem, act quickly. Do not wait for the state instructions,” Marandi said.

Fourth, he instructed them to continue meeting with people in order to share the Modi government’s 9-year achievements. “Tribals are currently praising the JMM, but it is your responsibility to inform them of what the BJP has done for them. Tell them about how the BJP created a separate state of Jharkhand, the first tribal woman president, eight tribal union ministers, a separate ministry for tribal affairs, and other achievements. You present the facts in a way that they understand as we do while preparing dishes of different taste with same items,” he explained.

Marandi stated that his appointment as the party’s state chief became effective on July 4, the first day of Holy Sharvan, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This is a message to all that we must meet everyone because Lord Shiva is revered by both God and the devil.

Marandi warned the party workers on the occasion to remain prepared for a struggle in the state, claiming that the government in Jharkhand is no different from those in West Bengal and Bihar, which believe in violence.

To encourage party members to stay active and aware, he quoted Swami Vivekanand as saying “Utho. Jago. Chalo. Aur Tab Tak Na Ruko Jay, Lakshya Ki Prapti Na Ho.”
