Ranchi: Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi has expressed concern over the recent abduction of a tribal girl in Giridih, questioning the safety of tribal daughters in Jharkhand. He noted that although the girl was recovered after eight days, no arrests have been made, nor has any strict legal action been taken against the accused so far.
Government accused of vote-bank and religion-based politics
Marandi alleged that the Hemant Soren-led government is dictating law enforcement based on the accused’s religion and political convenience. He claimed that tribal girls are being increasingly targeted under the current administration, which is failing to uphold their safety and dignity.
Government has no right to represent the tribal community if it can’t protect them
Highlighting growing anger within the tribal community, Marandi said that their daughters are living under constant fear. He added that any government unable to provide security has no moral right to represent tribal people.
Calls for immediate arrest of the accused
Demanding swift arrest of the perpetrator, Marandi urged the state government to act sensitively and responsibly toward the tribal population, ensuring their protection and justice without delay.
