Ranchi: Leader of the Opposition Babulal Marandi has appealed to Jharkhand residents to actively question government officials visiting their areas under the “Sarkar Aapke Dwaar” initiative. He said citizens must not remain silent spectators while the government engages in what he called “photo-op driven problem-listening exercises.”
Citizens Must Demand Accountability
Marandi emphasised that people are not subjects of those in power but rightful stakeholders who must raise their voices for their rights and future. If citizens fail to question today, he said, their tomorrow will remain unchanged. He urged the public to confront officials with concerns about failed schemes, deteriorating law and order, unemployment, and lack of basic services.
Key Questions Marandi Urges Public To Ask
He shared a list of pointed questions for residents to raise during the outreach camps:
-
Why is the Maaiyaan Samman stipend not reaching all eligible women?
-
Why is crime rising daily in the state?
-
Why is “jungle raj” returning?
-
Why are thousands of vacancies still unfilled and recruitment exams delayed?
-
Why must youth wait years for government jobs?
-
Why has the government failed to curb illegal sand, coal, and stone mining?
-
Why are schools short of teachers and operating in dilapidated buildings?
-
Why are village roads broken or incomplete?
-
Why are farmers not receiving timely seeds, fertiliser, and compensation?
-
Why do pensioners have to make endless rounds for their dues?
-
Why do housing schemes progress fast on paper but crawl on the ground?
-
Where are industries, employment opportunities, and start-up support for youth?
-
Why do tribal regions still lack clean drinking water and basic health services?
-
Why are tribal lands allegedly being exploited while illegal infiltrators are being settled?
