RAJ KUMAR

Ranchi, July 9: In the wake of return journey of Lord Jagannath and his siblings Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra to Ranchi’s Jagannath Temple from Mausi Badi (Gundicha temple) and Eid al-Adha (Bakrid), the district administration has done elaborate arrangements to maintain law and order.

Central paramilitary forces and Rapid Armed Forces have been deputed in the city at strategic locations to assist the Jharkhand police at an opportune moment. Apart from this, proper arrangement has been done for electronic surveillance of the city. Other than this, the drone camera has been kept ready to keep vigilance from a height.

S.P (city) Anshuman Kumar confirmed the preparedness saying the flag march was organized in the evening on Main Road, which witnessed violence on June 10. The purpose of the flag march was to build confidence among people and deter the morale of anti-social elements. He said a mock anti-riot drill was also performed.

A police official said during the mock drill the jawans were briefed regarding the standard operating procedure to handle trouble mongers with due attention to self defence, safety of public and private property, identification of anti-social elements and security of innocents and law abiding citizens. They were trained how to open fire that helps disperse the mob without damaging anyone.

Meanwhile, Haji Mokhtar Ahmed, General Secretary of Anjuman Islamia Ranchi, informed that the process of offering Namaz in mosques will start from 5.30 am tomorrow. Different timings have been set by the Management Committee for Namaz in different mosques, he said. There are 81 mosques in Ranchi where Namaz will be offered.

In Ranchi, the first Namaz will be offered at 5.30 am at Alfalah Masjid located in New Parastoli, Doranda. After this, Namaz will be held at Masjid-e-Abubakar in Lahakothi, Ahle Hadith Mosque in Hindpiri and Masjid Ibne Abbas in Kantatoli at 5.45 am.

The timing of Namaz has been fixed at 8 am in Doranda Idgah and Bariatu Idgah, while lastly at 9 am at Ranchi Idgah located on Harmu Road. But in case of rain, there will be no Namaz in Parastoli Idgah of Doranda. Instead, Namaz will be offered at the Parastoli Masjid.

Similarly, when it does not rain, the time has been fixed for the Jamaat to stand at 9:00 am at Ranchi Idgah, which is one of the most important Idgahs of Ranchi located on Harmu Road. On the other hand, if it rains, there will be no prayer there. Prayers will be offered in the adjacent Idgah mosque.
