New Delhi, Sept 4: Mushfiqur Rahim, the wicketkeeper-batter from Bangladesh, announced his retirement from T20I internationals on Sunday. Rahim has appeared in both matches for Bangladesh at the present Asia Cup, but the Shakib-Al-Hasan-led team failed to advance to the Super 4 stage after losses to Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. Rahim announced his retirement on Twitter, claiming he will now concentrate on ODIs and Tests.
Rahim also stated in his statement that he will be available to play in franchise leagues if the opportunity arises.
“I would like to announce my retirement from T20 INTERNATIONALS and focus on Test and ODI formats of the game. I will be available to play franchise leagues when the opportunity arrives. Looking forward to proudly represent my nation in the two formats-MR15,” he tweeted.
