Ranchi, Aug 18: The Birsa Agricultural University (BAU) is ready to hire associate deans on contract in five colleges. This appointment will be for six months. On satisfactory work, the contract will be extended as per the University rules.

Notably, a walk-in interview will be conducted for the appointment. The interview will be held on September 3, 2022 in the Board Room located at the University Headquarters.

Talking in this regard, BAU PRO Pankaj Vatsal said, “Notably, the then Chief Minister Raghubar Das in 2017 had announced the opening of seven new colleges under BAU. JPSC has the power of hiring associate deans. Here, classes began once the colleges were established five years ago. However, since there are no regular teachers or associate deans in either of the colleges, the vacancies have been taken out. Hiring done under these vacancies will be contractual and not permanent.”

As per ICAR rules, it is necessary for all colleges to have a dean for accreditation. According to the notification issued by Birsa Agricultural University, Phullo-Jhano Murmu College of Dairy Technology, Horticulture College Khuntpani, Rabindranath Tagore Agriculture College Deoghar, Tilka Manjhi Agriculture College Godda and Agriculture College Garhwa will have one Associate Dean.

Explaining the reason behind not advertising posts in College of Agricultural Engineering, Ranchi and College of Fisheries Science, Gumla, Director Administration Sushil Prasad said, “We have fisheries professors that are also working under the post of associate dean in the college in Gumla. On the other hand, the engineering college already has an associate dean on a contractual basis. Hence vacancies were not taken out for the said colleges.”

The pay scale of Associate Dean will be Rs 37400 – Rs 67000 (GP Rs 10000). Retired teachers can also apply for this post. For this, apart from the qualifications prescribed by the university, it is mandatory to have a specific contribution in the field of research, 10 publications, 10 years of academic experience, and contribution to new innovation. Apart from this, they should also have received API as per the rules.

The interested candidate has to apply with a bank draft of Rs 1500 to appear in the interview of Associate Dean. A candidate’s age should be minimum 35 years and maximum 65 years (as on August 1, 2022). At the same time, the candidates who will be in service will be able to apply through proper channels.
