Dhanbad, Dec 1: Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sandip Singh along with senior officers of the district administration on Thursday inspected the newly-constructed building of Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University (BBMKU) near Memko More and directed to complete the structure as per plan.

BBMKU was set up in 2017 and has been functioning in a makeshift office near Government Polytechnic Dhanbad for the last five years. Even postgraduate (PG) classes are being held at different colleges. As per the construction agency, the building has been completed and the university authority is likely to take over the building this month.

The DC along with Additional Collector Nandkishore Gupta, SDM Prem Kumar Tiwary, Executive Magistrate cum Special Executive Officer Sushant Mukherjee inspected the approach road of the university building with the main road, lecturer hall, classrooms, library, examination hall and other buildings.

A senior official of the district administration said that the DC assessed the floor plan of the building and directed the agency to follow the plan of the project accordingly. He looked unsatisfied with the construction of the approach road between the university building and the main road and directed the Govindpur block circle officer (CO) to look into it. The University campus falls under the Govindpur block area of the district.

The official said since the building has to be officially handed over to the university authority, the deputy commissioner has made a final inspection and directed for some improvement in structure.
