Dhanbad, Oct 12: Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University (BBMKU) Dhanbad has signed an MoU with the Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) Ranchi for collaboration in research promotion.
In this regard, BBMKU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Dr Sukhdeo Bhoi and ICAR Ranchi joint director (research) Dr Vijay Pal Bhadana have signed the agreement paper on behalf of their respective institution.
BBMKU VC Dr Bhoi has chalked out an ambitious plan for the promotion of research work at the university. An official said that the MoU would provide a world-class platform (laboratory, equipment, and library facilities) to research scholars of geography and science. They would also get help and guidance from scientists of the Indian Institute of Agriculture Biotechnology (IIAB).
“The MoU has been signed for training in molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology, entomology, environment, and fisheries and developing facilities of joint research works on different subjects,” said a senior official of the university after the MoU was signed.
The university official further added that Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and PhD scholars would benefit immensely from this MoU. Both institutions would issue the certificate jointly.
The team of ICAR-IIRB officials also visited the biology department lab of the university and expressed satisfaction with the available facilities for research work.
ICAR joint director (research) Dr Sanjay Kumar Gupta, BBMKU dean of science Dr JN Singh, registrar Dr Kaushal Kumar and Dr AK Singh were also present on the occasion.
