Daltonganj, Aug 21: A bear grievously injured a 70-year-old tribal Rajinder Munda at Pahar Kocha protected forest today under the Bareysanr range of the Palamu Tiger Reserve (PTR).
Munda has got 70 stitches in his head. He has been rushed to RIMS Ranchi.
Bareysanr range officer Tarun Kumar Singh said Munda had gone to the Pahar Kocha jungle to collect Khukhiri mushroom where the bear attacked him and injured him badly.
Munda was first brought to the community health centre at Mahuadnr where he was given 70 stitches and anti rabies shot before being rushed to RIMS Ranchi said the medical officer in charge of the community health centre of Mahuadnr, Amit Khalkho.
Ranger Bareysanr Tarun Kumar Singh said, “We have given him 11,000 rupees and an ambulance arranged by us took him to the RIMS Ranchi.”
