Jamshedpur, Aug 6: One of the most popular musical evenings of the steel city organised on the last Monday (or ‘antim somvari’) of the holy month of Shravan will see the performance by noted bhajan singer Lakhbir Singh Lakha this year.
Philanthropic outfit Har Har Mahadev Seva Sangh will organise the grand musical soiree at the Gurudwara ground in Sakchi on the last Monday of the holy month of Shravan, which falls on August 8.
Founder of Har Har Mahadev Seva Sangh Amarpreet Singh Khanuja Kale said on Saturday that they were expecting a good turnout at the musical event to be organised in the evening.
“All necessary preparations are being made for the grand event. Priority is given to safety. We have got the nod from the district administration for organising the grand musical evening,” said Amarpreet Singh Khanuja Kale, founder of the Sangh that has been holding the musical soiree for the last two decades.
He said that last two years the event was organised online because of the Covid-19 pandemic. “We did not want to dishearten devotees who used to come in large numbers to witness the musical show. Therefore, during the last two years of Covid we beamed the proceedings live through our Facebook page,” he added.
In 2019, renowned singer Kailash Kher had enthralled an audience of over 20,000 at the gurdwara ground.
Bhojpuri singer-turned-politician Manoj Tiwary, acclaimed Bhojpuri singers Bharat Sharma, Devi, Kalpana Patowary, Padma Shri Malini Awasthi and bhajan singer Anup Jalota have performed at earlier events.
Special illuminations on the stretch of Kalimati Road in front of Sakchi Gurdwara will also be made.
One of the highlights of the function will be the Sangh Ratna Seva Award, which was instituted a few years back for professional excellence and distinguished service.
