Bharat bandh against Agnipath fails to make impact in Jharkhand capital

Ranchi, June 20: The day-long Bharat bandh called by a section of students’ organisations protesting against Agnipath Recruitment Scheme of Indian defence forces has no major impact on common men in the Jharkhand capital.

 

Since morning, vehicular movement is normal and business establishments are open and people are carrying out their business as usual. Works were being carried out in a normal way in the civil court

 

However, the government has taken all precautionary measures in the wake of bandh. All private and government schools have been closed. As many as 2600 security personnel have been deputed at strategic locations of the Jharkhand capital. A section of Rapid Armed police have been deputed outside the BJP state headquarters in Harmu.

 

Indian Railway has cancelled some of the trains while short terminated some trains. It has also diverted routes of some of the trains.

 

Issuing a press release, the South Eastern Railway informed that it has cancelled as many as five trains expected to Ranchi or Hatia in Jharkhand originating from different destinations in Bihar. The trains include Train No. 18625 Purnia Court – Hatia Express, Train number 12365 Patna – Ranchi Janshatabdi,  Train No. 18621 Patna – Hatia Express,  Train No. 18623 Islampur – Hatia Express train journey start date 20/06/2022 will remain canceled from Islampur and Train No. 18636 Sasaram – Ranchi Express. These trains will not start their journey from their originating stations in Bihar.

 

Similar information regarding cancellation, short termination and diversion of trains are coming from Dhanbad and Sahibganj.
