Patna, June 20: The Bihar state level combined entrance test (CET) for enrolment in two-year B.Ed and Shiksha Shastri courses for the session 2022-24, which was planned to be held on June 23, has been postponed, due to unavoidable circumstances.
According to Ashok Kumar Mehta, the state nodal officer for CET-B Ed, the decision was made by the direction of the chancellor of universities, who called an online review meeting with the appropriate divisional commissioners. While divisional commissioners provided their input, the chancellor was briefed on the current situation.
The CET-B.Ed was set to take place on June 23 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
On Monday, Prof SP Singh, vice chancellor of LN Mithila University (LNMU), a nodal university for CET-B.Ed, as well as state nodal officers, attended the meeting in Raj Bhawan.
Nearly 30,000 candidates, according to Mehta, were unable to get their admission cards from the CET website till Sunday due to a network difficulty, as internet connections in many regions of Bihar had been banned since June 17. On Monday, the total number of districts reached 20.
CET-B.Ed will be held in 325 centers across 11 cities in Bihar, with 1,91,929 candidates registered.
According to Dr Mustaque Ahmad, registrar of LN Mithila University (LNMU), Darbhanga, this university has been nominated as a nodal university for the third time in a row to conduct entrance examinations for the two-year CET-B.Ed., Shiksha Shastri, as well as the four-year Integrated B.Ed.-2022 course, which will be held after the CBSE 12th standard results are published.
The CET was held for admission to B.Ed programmes at 342 institutions and 14 universities around the state.
