When Khans’ convoy was crossing Mahuwal village, four to five armed men attacked it. A automobile following the convoy was also assaulted, and Vinod Yadav (30), a peasant, was killed after multiple bullets struck him, along with two others in the same car.
Two of Khan’s followers were shot, with one of them, Bablu, in critical condition. Khan Brothers, a criminal turned politician, are the most well-known criminals since Shahabuddin’s murder in Siwan.
Khan claimed that despite requesting a security guard from the District Magistrate, he was not given with one during the election.
Shailesh Kumar Sinha, Superintendent of Police, arrived at the hospital late at night, saw the injured, and took notes on the occurrence. He also went to the scene of the incident late at night to investigate it.
“Our brother Raees Khan somehow escaped in the tragedy and account of the occurrence would be taken and the ones who opened fire will not be spared,” former Janata Dal (United) JDU MLA Shyam Bahadur Singh stated.
