Ranchi, July 17: The Bihar police arrested a retired BSF jawan Rampukar Rai involved in tampering with arm licenses to deal in fire weapons.

Officer-in-charge of Sukhdeonagar police station Vinod Kumar informed this saying that Bihar Police officials arrested him from Ranchi railway station with the help of Jharkhand police and then took him to Bihar with the permission of the court.

Kumar said Rai used to download the original arm license and then used to change name and photographs to prepare fake arm licenses to purchase arms from Kolkata. He used to sell it at a high price after purchasing arms from Kolkata with the help of fake licenses.

OC Kumar said Rai’s native village is in Bhojpur district of Bihar but he used to stay in Road No.6 of Indrapuri in the Jharkhand capital. He said an FIR in this connection was also registered against him at BIT police station.
