Patna, July 4: Lalu Prasad Yadav, the leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), has been hospitalised to the Paras Hospital in Patna, Bihar. Lalu Prasad slipped down a flight of stairs at his home on Sunday, breaking his shoulder slightly and hurting his back.
Lalu was checked into Paras Hospital early on Monday and is now receiving treatment there. The 74-year-old RJD leader was readmitted to AIIMS, Delhi, earlier this year as his condition worsened. He is dealing with a number of health issues.
After nearly 3.5 years, Lalu Prasad Yadav made his way back to Patna from Delhi in October of last year. Prior to that, Lalu Prasad had been ill for for six months and was in Delhi following his release from prison in April. Following his conviction in the fodder scam, he was put behind bars in December 2017. He was getting well at the AIIMS in Delhi.
RJD leader Lalu Prasad was granted bail on April 22 by the High Court of Jharkhand in the Rs 139.35 crore Doranda Treasury case involving the fodder scandal. Lalu Prasad, the leader of the RJD and a former chief minister of Bihar, was found guilty in February by a special CBI court in Ranchi of making fraudulent withdrawals from the Doranda Treasury in connection with the fifth fodder scam case.
