Patna, Mar 28: A low-intensity bomb blast in Bihar’s Lakhisarai district injured at least seven people on Monday morning.
The incidence was confirmed by Sushil Kumar, Lakhisarai SP. He told IANS that the bomb went off about 7 a.m. in Walipur village, which is under the Piparia police station.
“The device was hidden in a plastic bag in the back yard of a residence owned by Lutan Rajak. When the plastic bag was discovered, one of the younger boys opened it while six other members of the family stood nearby. The explosive went off as soon as the teen opened the bag,” Kumar said.
“The bomb’s intensity was low, and just seven people were injured externally. They were provided first assistance in a Piparia primary health centre,” he added.
“Three more low-intensity bombs were discovered during the search. The injured people’s statements have been taken. The inquiry into how the explosive was placed there is now underway,” he stated.
