Jamshedpur, March 27: Unidentified bike-borne criminals fired three shots near an auto-parts shop at Tinplate Chowk under Golmuri thana area of the steel city on Monday afternoon.
Significantly, the firing at Tinplate Chowk followed an hour after the firing at the gate of Jamshedpur civil court premises, causing the steel city to rock.
Golmuri thana OC, Rajiv Ranjan confirmed about the firing and said that investigation is on.
“Three rounds of shots were fired by two bike-borne criminals. We are probing into the incident,” said the OC while talking to lagatar24.com.
Rajiv Ranjan said they are trying to identify the shooter by taking CCTV footage of the surrounding.
Sources in the police, however, revealed that a local goon has opened the fire and it was meant to extort ‘rangdari’ from the owner of an auto-parts shop located at the Tinplate Chowk.
According to sources, of the three shots, one was targetted at the auto-parts shop owner whereas two shots were fired in the blank.
In this connection, the police are talking to the victim shop owner identified as Vinod Singh.
