Ranchi, June 4: The Morhabadi ground in the heart of Jharkhand capital is ready to host over 50000 tribal members in the Birsa Biswas Rally organised by the BJP on World Environment Day.
A short visit to the ground this afternoon suggests that those coming to the ground will get an opportunity to have food in the complete tribal atmosphere with senior BJP leaders in the presence of party’s national president J.P.Nadda as over 50 commercial gas cylinders were noticed kept at the programme venue and cooks were noticed doing arrangement to cook food.
During a short stay, tribals from different parts of the city were noticed visiting the venue with different types of queries from the organisers. Some were heard asking about the sitting arrangement; some were asked about stalls where tribal items will be kept. There were a few also who were heard asking about the timing of the arrival of Nadda.
Those noticed replying to the queries of visitors included Ashok Munda, general secretary of BJP ST Morcha and Prem Baraik, state secretary of the same front.
Meanwhile, BJP state president and Rajya Sabha member Deepak Prakash and BJP ST Front national president Sameer Oraon, at a press conference said as many 32 tribal groups will remain present at the rally in traditional dress and some of them will be dancing to the beats of tribal musical instruments. He said the national president of the party will land in the state capital at 11am and reach the venue via BJP state headquarters in Harmu.
Prakash said six major fronts of the BJP active in the state have made arrangements to rain flowers on the national president at six places between the airport and the state BJP headquarters.
Oraon echoed the same saying it will be a rally cum fair in which the tribal culture of the state will be showcased.
Oraon said the rally is being organised to build confidence among the tribals who are being misguided by oppositions.
“We want to communicate to the tribal brethren how the BJP is committed to their development. We also want to tell them to support the truth and not get trapped by those who have been cheating the tribal people, creating a false anti-tribal image of the BJP,” Oraon said.
A tribal leader supported Oraon and justified the rally saying it is the need of the hour.
“The BJP lost power to the JMM, RJD and Congress combined due to shifting of the tribal votes from the Saffron brigade to the JMM. Out of 28 tribal seats, the BJP was successful in winning only two seats as it was propagated that the BJP will loot tribal land. Thus such a programme is required to build a positive image of the BJP in the party and share what the BJP has done for the tribals,” the insider said.
