Ranchi, Dec 9: A five-day workshop will be organised at BIT Extension Center from December 13 to 17 to train the participating students about Data Science. This workshop will be organised by the Computer Science Department of BIT Extension, Lalpur and will be led by Dr Vandana Bhattacharjee, Head of the Department of Computer Science. So far more than 50 children have enrolled for this workshop.
There will be a total of 15 sessions in the workshop, of which three sessions are to be organised every day. Out of 15 sessions, 11 sessions will be theory while four will be practical. The practical sessions will have students practising topics they have learned in the 11 theory sessions.
Giving information about the programme, Soumitro Chakravarti said, “In today’s time, it has become very important to do data analysis. Data analysis is used in the industrial sector, education sector, political sector and many other fields. With the help of data analysis, it will be easy for the students to analyze the data and identify useful data from it. This way we are organising this workshop so that the children can be prepared for their future.”
The coordinators of the workshop include Dr Patho Sarathi Vishnu, Dr Umesh Prasad and Soumitro Chakravarti. The workshop will be attended by Dr Manish Kumar of IIT Allahabad, Dr P K Mishra of IIT BHU and Prof Sahani of NIT Durgapur.
