BIT Mesra concludes three-week induction programme for freshers

Ranchi, Dec 9: A three-week Student Induction Programme for the newly admitted students was conducted at BIT Mesra that began on November 21 and ended on Friday. The main objective of the program was to acquaint the new students admitted to the Institute with the ethos and culture of the Institute, holistic approach to life and develop sensitivity towards self, family, society, nation and the whole existence.

Various interactive sessions were conducted in the first week about topics such as life skills and self-management. During the event, various lectures on technical and motivational topics were delivered by eminent personalities from reputed organisations. In addition, the students were involved in the process of teaching as well as learning through creative activities.

The students were divided into different groups and each group was allotted space for their activities. The first week was completely dedicated to the induction programme, which started at 6:30 am and ended around 6:30 pm. Students participated in various activities including Yoga exercises, games Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Football, Basketball, Volleyball and Badminton, a Campus tour and a walking campaign.

The second and third weeks saw the induction programmes conducted from 3:20 pm and 4, 6, and 7 pm. The students were involved in the development of their site based on their creative ideas. After the evaluation of their sites by the evaluators, the groups were ranked first, second and third and prizes were distributed accordingly.

During the programme, the officials of the institute explained to the students the ethos and culture of the institute and the various practices that are followed.
