Dhanbad, March 16: In the All India Technical Competition, “Great Step 2023,” three students from BIT Sindri, Department of Mining Engineering emerged victorious. The two-day tournament was held on March 10–12 at IIT Kharagpur.
The final-year students from BIT Sindri were Rishabh Singh, Ayush Kumar, and Akash Kumar. Five events were attended by the students. They won first place in three competitions, including two team competitions, and one solo competition. The students were placed third in two other events.
This time around, the two-day mega competition attracted participation from 23 elite technological universities throughout the nation.
In addition to winning team competitions, Rishabh Singh also bagged first place in the solo Enviro Case Study competition. He received third place in the Mineo Case Study and National Mining Innovation Challenge competitions. He was titled the best competitor.
In an earlier team competition for the Industrial Design Issue, the BIT team of Rishabh Singh, Ayush Kumar, and Akash Kumar defeated teams from 23 technical institutions to take first place. The squad won the Mineac quiz tournament and continued to rule there as well.
BIT Director Dr D.K Singh gave the final year mining engineering students a high appreciation for their work. He urged the students to use the resources that became accessible as a result of their affiliation with IIT ISM TEXMIN to advance in their technical careers. He also praised the faculty of the mining engineering department for guiding the students.
Prof. Pramod Kumar Singh, the department head for mining engineering at BIT, congratulated the students and noted that the BIT team’s victory over 23 other universities nationwide was a remarkable accomplishment for both BIT Sindri and Jharkhand.
This BIT Sindri team has won at the national level twice, the most recent occasion being this year. The National Aeromodelling Competition (NAC), which was conducted at IIT Kharagpur in the first week of February, saw the BIT Sindri team advance to the finals. The competition featured participation from two BIT Sindri squads.
