Dhanbad, June 24: The race of multi-national companies for campus selection in the state-owned Birsa Institute of Technology (BIT) Sindri is gaining ground day by day. Now, Vedanta Limited has joined the race of picking up BIT students after Jai Balaji Group.

Vedanta Limited has selected five mining engineering department students from the campus. The selected students are Arvind Kumar, Prakash Kumar, Rohit Kumar, Shubham Raj and Sanju Bara.

Vedanta Limited, a subsidiary of Vedanta Resources Limited, is one of the world’s leading oil and gas metal companies with significant operations in the oil and gas industry. BIT Career Development Centre (CDC) chairman Dr Ghanshyam said that the selection process was completed in a day and Vedanta Limited authorities announced the result officially on Thursday evening.

Since the publication of the AICTE survey report of Delhi on June 17, BIT Sindri students have become a hot cake for the national and multi-national companies. In the survey BIT, Sindri got 2nd rank among engineering colleges in the country in terms of having several meritorious students.

Jai Balaji Groups jumped on campus on June 20 and selected 15 students of different streams. Now Vedanta Limited picked up five students.

BIT Sindri director DK Singh congratulated the selected students and wished them luck in their future careers.

“I would like to extend my sincere regards and gratitude to Vedanta Limited for providing this opportunity to our students and conducting a smooth virtual hiring process. I would also like to acknowledge my Training and Placement coordinators, Madhav Kumar and his team for their continuous efforts towards the growing placement statistics in the institution,” said the director.
