Dhanbad, Aug 10: Teams of BIT Sindri students performing as per reputation captured both the winner and runners-up trophies in the NBC Idea Factory season 8 national competition organized by the National Engineering Industries Limited (NEI) Jaipur.
Giving this information, BIT Sindri Director Prof Ghanshyam said that the Team Explosive of BIT Sindri comprising Gorella Kumar and Vivek Kumar Pandey (both final year students of the chemical engineering department) won the first prize.
The team of Ashutosh Pandey, Kumar Ohdar, Yash Maheshwari and Aman Prasad, students of the 2022-23 batch bagged the runners-up trophy in the contest.
Gorella Kumar and Vivek Kumar got the first prize on their project ‘Noise Reduction and Crown Modification in Roller Bearings through Electro Chemical Abrasive Belt Grinding (ECABG)’.
They got a cash prize of Rs 150,000 for this achievement.
The project of Ashutosh Pandey, Kumar Ohdar, Yash Maheshwari and Aman Prasad was on ‘Techniques to Detect Noise in Bearing using Machine Learning’. They got runners-up a cash prize of Rs 100,000.
The BIT director while congratulating the winning team members said, “Your outstanding victory in the NBC Idea Factory season 8 is truly commendable and it reflects your dedication, hard work, and innovative thinking”.
” Your project showcases your deep understanding of engineering principles and your ability to address real-world challenges faced by industries,” he said.
In a separate message to runners-up winning team members Ashutosh Pandey, Kumar Ohdar, Yash Maheshwari and Aman Prasad, Prof Ghanshyam said “Your outstanding project not only showcases your innovative thinking but also addresses a critical aspect of engineering.”
“Your success is an inspiration to others and a reflection of the high standards set by BIT Sindri. As you continue on your path, may you keep pushing boundaries, exploring new horizons, and making a positive difference in the world of engineering,” said the director.
NEI Idea Factory is a national-level contest in which student teams from engineering colleges across the country participate and demonstrate their projects for industrial solutions.
He also gave special thanks to NEI for providing a platform that nurtures talent, encourages creativity and contributes to the growth of the engineering field. “ Your commitment to fostering innovation and excellence is truly commendable”, he said.
