New Delhi: The BJP has strongly objected to Rahul Gandhi’s remarks during the Congress’ Voter Rights Yatra in Bihar, alleging that the opposition leader repeatedly uses derogatory language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra, addressing a press conference, said Congress has turned into a “gali wali party” (party of abuses) and compared Rahul Gandhi to former Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar.
BJP Criticises Rahul Gandhi’s Remarks
Patra accused Rahul Gandhi of insulting the Prime Minister and even dragging his late mother into political speeches. He said that since 2012, opposition leaders have used demeaning words against PM Modi. He added that Rahul Gandhi, Aiyar, and Sanjay Raut “are no different,” and that Rahul himself has become “the new Mani Shankar Aiyar.” The BJP leader also pointed out that the Lok Sabha Speaker had earlier noted the use of unparliamentary language by the opposition.
Attack On Constitutional Institutions
Patra alleged that Congress and its allies have disrespected constitutional authorities, citing their comments against the Supreme Court, the Election Commission, and even the Army Chief. “According to them, everyone is a thief, while those out on bail are right. This is their mindset,” Patra said. He asserted that while BJP does not expect an apology from Rahul Gandhi, the people of Bihar will give him a fitting reply.
‘Insult To PM’s Late Mother Shameful’
The BJP spokesperson further criticised Congress leaders for making derogatory comments about PM Modi’s late mother, who passed away at the age of 100. “A party that claims the legacy of the freedom movement should be ashamed to target the mother of the Prime Minister,” Patra said. He emphasised that Bihar, a land of great leaders and traditions, is watching closely and will respond to such behaviour in the elections.
