Ranchi, Aug.21: The BJP today opened its front against the JMM -led UPA government.
The party formed a human chain at 267 places including 264 blocks and three prominent cities—capital city Ranchi, coal city Dhanbad and steel city Jamshedpur and handed over the memorandum to Governor Ramesh Bais through BDOs mentioning the failure of the state government on different fronts.
Participating in the state-wide programme at Morabadi ground in the state capital, party state president and parliamentarian Deepak Prakash said the party workers cannot be mute spectators when minerals are being looted, law and order is deteriorating, unemployed are running from pillar to post for jobs, youths are being beaten by stick, farmers are facing problem in getting their due and women becoming a victim of sexual exploitation.
Former chief minister and BJP legislature party chief Babulal Marandi was present at Namkum. He exposed the failure saying the government cheated migrated labourers by not giving them jobs after calling them from their workplace during the pandemic. He further said the government failed to provide jobs to any youths. Other failures he counted include no admission in government-run technical and medical colleges, non-use of resources given by the union government to fight the pandemic, the slaughter of 11 tribal besides others.
Party general secretary Aditya Sahu participating in the programme at Kanke said during 19 months, 2711 cases of rape were registered across the state. He said that the government stopped the provision of registration of property up to Rs 50 lakh in the name of women in Re 1.
Another state general secretary Pradeep Verma said the government did not probe the matter of sub-inspector Rupa Tirkey’s suicide case to protect the Jungle Raj established by his close aide Pankaj Mishra. He said power supply conditions had deteriorated in the state. He said the chief minister has compared an accused of treason, Father Stan Swamy, with tribal icon Birsa Munda and exposed his love for missionaries. He said fake cases are being registered in the state to implicate innocents.
