Ranchi, March 27: The saffron brigade has termed the ship accident at Sahibganj-Manihari Ferry Ghat as painful and unfortunate.

Accusing the Hemant government of looting the natural wealth under his protection, BJP MLA Babulal Marandi said on Sunday, earlier there used to be loot of coal and sand in the state, but now the henchmen of the government have also joined the loot of land.

Referring to the Sahibganj to Manihari ferry service boat accident, Marandi said that the ghat (Garam Ghat) where the incident took place was taken under the protection of the Chief Minister’s operatives in the last auction. Then started the work of smuggling stone chips illegally from this ferry service.

“The state government has also formed a 4-member committee for the incident. The Additional Collector is the highest rank officer in the committee. On the other hand, DC says that this incident happened from Ferry service from Garam Ghat to Samda Ghat and the incident happened in the afternoon. According to eyewitnesses and victims, the incident took place at 10:30 pm in the ferry service from Garam Ghat. It is clear that when Sahibganj DC is lying, then subordinate officers will investigate the matter impartially under him,” Marandi said.

Marandi has demanded a CBI inquiry into the entire matter, he said, “We will not look into this matter only by holding a press conference, we will go as far as possible and will work in the direction to take action against the culprits by getting the entire matter investigated fairly.”
