Daltonganj, April 27: Manatu BJP ST cell chief Permode Singh Chero has been murdered.

His body was found hanging at Karma Tilha under the Manatu police station in Palamu on Thursday morning.

SP Chandan Kumar Sinha said, “It’s an outright case of murder. It’s no death by hanging prima facie.” He said that Chero had too many enemies. “He had a land dispute. He had a tiff over a Chhath ghat as well,” the SP added.

More than a dozen people have been named accused in this murder of Permode Singh Chero in the FIR.

Officer in charge of the Manatu police station Kamlesh Kumar said the body was found hanging today around 5.45 am. It was hanging from the branch of a Palash tree.

Kamlesh Kumar said his father Nandeo Singh Chero was searching for him since Wednesday evening and around 1.30 am on Thursday the police were informed about his missing.

His murder has no political angle at all as it is born out of personal animosity and deep-seated revenge, said sources in the police.
