Patna: As the Bihar Assembly elections draw closer, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its preparations by announcing a list of 40 star campaigners for the first phase of polling. The list, released late Thursday evening, features the party’s top brass, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Big Names to Lead BJP’s Campaign
The list underscores BJP’s strategy to bring its most prominent leaders to the frontlines. Along with Modi and Shah, party president JP Nadda, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Smriti Irani, Devendra Fadnavis, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Manoj Tiwari, Pawan Singh, Ravi Kishan, and Dinesh Lal Yadav ‘Nirahua’ are among the high-profile campaigners. These leaders will hold rallies and roadshows across various districts to mobilise support for NDA candidates.
BJP Gears Up for Intense Poll Battle
The elections will be conducted in two phases: November 6 (121 seats) and November 11 (122 seats), with vote counting and results scheduled for November 14. By deploying its heavyweight leaders early, the BJP aims to energise its voter base and consolidate support across key constituencies ahead of the crucial polls.
