Ranchi, March 1: The BJP today boycotted chief minister Hemant Soren’s reply on the issue of corruption in the house after a debate on the motion of thanks on the governor’s speech.
The situation came when the chief minister started counting corruption cases that took place during the Raghubar Das rule while the BJP legislators wanted chief minister Soren to speak on corruption done by suspended senior IAS Pooja Singhal and others against whom the ED took action during the past few months.
“Pooja Singhal par kuch bolen,” a BJP legislator asked, interrupting the speech of leader of the house Soren. As Soren retorted saying ‘MNREGA Ghotla Hamari Sakar Ke Samay Nahi Huyi Thi (the MNREGA scam did not take place during the rule of my government)….Charge sheet mein Ek Bhi Mines Ka Naam Nahi Tha (charge sheet did not mention any name of mines),” the BJP legislators started leaving the house.
As the BJP legislators left the house the chief minister made a mockery of the practice saying he will make his word heard in the house. “Ab Kisko Sunaun Ye Baat,” he said laughing.
Later in absence of the BJP legislators, the chief minister during his speech pointed out loopholes in the policy of the union government.
He said Jharkhand is among the backward states but the way the union government is working India will be the most backward country in the world very soon. He supported his allegation pointing out the deterioration in the financial condition of the Life Insurance Corporation of India and its banks.
“Bank doob gaya to muabza matra ek lakh milega (In case a bank sinks one will get only one lakh as compensation),” he said before adding that in the situation one can easily ascertain whether his money is safe buried covered with polythene under the ground or in the bank.
Chief Minister Soren said the BJP in the state wanted to topple his government since it came in power. He said that this mindset was reflected after union minister Amit Shah publicly recalled that the BJP leaders of Jharkhand had been asking the minister to change the government.
