Ranchi, Aug.4: Uproar continued in the Jharkhand assembly on the concluding day of Monsoon session.
Soon after the suspension of the four BJP legislators was revoked, BJP Anant Ojha brought an adjournment motion and pressed for the discussion on the smuggling cow which recently claimed the life of lady sub inspector Sandhya Topno in the Jharkhand capital.
When the speaker did not allow it, the BJP legislators reached the well and started shouting slogans. Following which the speaker adjourned the house till 12.50pm.
Earlier amid ruckus, the agriculture minister assured consideration of 10 percent reservation in contract work to labour co-operatives in the government institutions and government schemes of the state. He gave this assurance in response to a short notice question by MLA Mathura Prasad Mahato.
The Minister accepted though on 23 January 2013, the Government of India had already given a direction to this effect, in Jharkhand it could not be enforced. He said presently the Jharkhand Public Works Code is not in force and work is being done under the provisions of Bihar Public Works Code. He said soon the department and the chief secretary will be requested for formulating PWD code.
On which independent MLA Saryu Roy took strong exception saying the minister is not expected to give such a reply. He was of the opinion that the ministers do not request but give instructions. He asked the minister to give a timeline to fulfill his assurance.
