New Delhi, Oct 25: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that in the elections of five states, the BJP will be wiped out and there is a wave against the BJP in the country. He was speaking with the news agency ANI. He also mentioned that the INDIA coalition will discuss the seat-sharing formula after the elections in the five states.

“Congress’ preparations for the elections in five states are going well. We are confident that we will win in all the states. There has been an anti-incumbency for the BJP owing to mainly inflation, and unemployment,” Kharge said.

However, experts say that the distribution of seats will not be that easy. This will be the biggest headache for the coalition. When asked if the elections in the five states will be a semi-final for the 2024 general elections, Mallikarjun Kharge said that each state has different electoral issues, and votes are cast based on those issues. He also mentioned that the Lok Sabha elections are separate from the legislative assembly elections.

As he continued to elaborate, the Congress President said that their party workers are working tirelessly everywhere and they hope that the Congress will win in the five states. He mentioned that there is a wave of opposition against the BJP. People are frustrated. Unemployment and inflation have troubled the nation’s population. He accused the BJP of not fulfilling the promises they made. “Whatever promises were made, BJP did not fulfil even a single promise. Be it unemployment, doubling farmer’s income, or investment,” he said.

He gave the example of neglecting Karnataka. “No central projects are being given (to Karnataka),” he said. He further added that in Madhya Pradesh, people are facing issues with Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and they are speaking out against him.
