Ranchi, May 20: BJP legislature party chief and former CM Babulal Marandi today announced if his party is voted to power in the forthcoming assembly election it will prepare a mini-NRC for Santhal Pargana to ensure how many people have settled here coming from Bangladesh.
Marandi was addressing media persons at Pakur circuit house before leaving for Sahibganj.
The BJP leader said that the matter related to intrusion is before the Jharkhand High Court and the court has issued notices to the central and the state governments in the matter while expressing his concern over the issue.
He said in 1990 the then deputy commissioner of Sahibganj had identified Bangladesh residents but after that nothing happened and the intrusion is going abetted and demography is changing.
He, on the occasion, informed media persons that his party will start a month-long exercise on May 30 to let people know what the BJP has done for them. He said it is the result of Modi’s governance that people in the country are getting gas connections without delay and the poor are getting houses free of cost.
