Patna, April 12: An unnamed caller made a bomb threat, prompting police to launch a search operation at Patna’s Jayprakash Narayan Airport on Wednesday.
In response to the call, a bomb disposal squad is conducting a search operation on the airport grounds, said the police.
Patna Airport Director said, “A bomb threat call was received at Patna Airport. Based on the information, Airport Bomb Threat Assessment Committee found the call to be non-specific. The state BDDS team carried out checks”.
According to a report, the call was made around 10:47 AM. The bomb detection and disposal unit and the police are conducting search operations. Yet, there are no delays in the airport’s airline operations.
In July, last year, a passenger’s accusation that he had a bomb in his backpack caused Patna airport to stop an IndiGo flight (6e 2126) headed for Delhi. Further examination of his suitcase revealed no bomb. Afterwards, the passenger was held, and the plane underwent additional inspection.
