Dhanbad, Sept 13: The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Sanjay Kumar Singh on Tuesday sent both accused Rahul Singh and Asif Ali of Bank More based Muthoot FinCorp dacoity incident on six days police remand.

The Bank More police had demanded 10 days remand of both the accused to resolve the loot incident but the court gave only six days remand on the appeal.

Five armed criminals tried to commit dacoity in Bank More based Muthoot FinCorp office on the morning of September 6. But with timely intervention of the police, one dacoit was killed in the encounter on the spot while Rahul Singh and Asif Ali were arrested. Two other dacoits managed to escape.

Bank More police Inspector PK Singh and Muthoot FinCorp branch manager had filed FIR separately in the police station. On the basis of the FIR, court had on September 7 sent both the arrested dacoits in judicial remand.

The police in its petition in the court had demanded 10 days remand of Rahul Singh and Asif Ali so that Gunjan Jewels loot incident, which happened three days prior to the Muthoot FinCorp dacoity attempt, could be resolved. The police told the court that their remand would help in getting vital information about the looted ornaments of Gunjan Jewels.

After hearing the police plea, the court directed Dhanbad jail administration to send both the accused on six days police remand.
