Ranchi, Sept.13: BJP legislature party chief and former chief minister of Jharkhand Babulal Marandi today shared the documents suggesting that JMM Shibu Soren and his family members have amassed property in tunes of several crores after formation of Jharkhand but have not declared the same to the Election Commission of India.
Marandi shared the documents through his party’s whatsapp group after a press conference at the party’s state headquarters in Harmu.
He said that Chief Minister Hemant Soren starts ‘playing tribal card’ when he lands in trouble and starts saying that he is being victimised by people of ‘Samanti’ attitude as he is an ‘adivasi’ but when a time comes for investigation of his properties he fields costly advocates of the country which none of the tribals of Jharkhand can afford to save his property. In this way though he pretends to be tribal, his behaviour reflects his ‘Samanti’ attitude, he added.
Marandi said the IT and the CBI have so far disclosed his property worth Rs 250 crore in the name of Shibu Soren but in the affidavit submitted before the Election Commission of India he had shown property of only Rs two crore and thus suppressed facts related to his property. The act provides disqualification from membership from house membership as minimum punishment.
Marandi said that Soren family has as many as 108 properties and all have been amassed after formation of Jharkhand and if a proper probe is done more ‘benami’ property will be unearthed which belongs to Soren family but is in the name of others.
Marandi said at the time when poor tribal people are not getting benefit of the housing scheme of the government due to lack of land in their name, the Hemant Soren government is bulldozing the houses of tribal people somehow managing to survive constructing hut on ‘gairmazarua’ government land.
Marandi said the Soren family in Jharkhand has only looted Jharkhand and if it is not so why the family is afraid of probe.
